After GODUS, developer Peter Molyneux appeared with his new adventures game “The Trail- A Frontier Journey” published by Kongregate, which looks kind of like an endless runner at first glance. A bit like Temple Run only set in a picturesque, postcard valley.

This one-thumb-play game is about trading and crafting around a new world as a settler. You start your fortune journey with a map directing the way of tour trail. When you initiate the game, you are welcomed with a bright sunny landscape full of eye-soothing natural view to the trail of adventure. So, what do you actually do on this journey? You run for collecting goodies like pine cones, feathers, twigs, rocks, bits of wool, clumps of fur, etc. All You have to swipe and drag these objects to your sack that appear randomly on your game screen. You can control your speed from a sprint to an amble. You can even swing the view around to see the game from a different angle. The relaxing fact of this game is you don’t have to avoid any obstacles.

Moreover, the challenge is collecting as many pieces of stuff as you can. So what makes you collecting these things? Well, you need the stamina to survive (or you will collapse)!! Like an apple can save your life or a pair of shoes (that you can make from the stuff you collect following the recipe) can speed your journey. So you collect things for your survival so that you can turn your scraps of material into items. Possibly handy tools like a  stone axe, or better clothes to improve your strength, or stuff simply to sell.

Another challenge of this game is managing your stuff into your sack. Your sack isn’t split into nice neat pockets, though: your goodies wobble about, drops over the edges, or stick elbows of a pine comes to make room. So, there’s something tactile and fun about sorting out your stuff according to which things you actually need and which of the things just blocking the space of your sack. While moving from camp to camp, you can sell the things that you don’t need that much or just throw away to the conveyor belt. The conveyor belt leads to a big gnashing blender that crushes your item (it also makes a small amount of money). If you find another trader in the camp, you can trade your stuff for a significant sum of money. Sell more items to empty your sack. Besides, you can earn a prize if you make the most of the trading!!

So for now, you’ll just have to craft things which give you stamina, so that you can pick up more stuff, that gives you more stamina, which…. An endless loop of making stuff that lets you get better at making stuff, without ever actually changing the game-play!!!

Though the idea of the game is to make your journey to the Eden Falls following the trail, who knows what you’ll do when you get there!! Keeping this as a mystery, the Trail is undoubtedly an exceptionally enjoyable game with beautiful 3D graphics. If you never been on this kind of journey this game is for you. The view gets you into the game-play in a minute like you are literally walking on a trail with a refreshing sweet background music. An entirely unlaxing game to cheer you up!! Feel free to download this game from App Store.
